My display buildings often spend their time between shows living in my own garden, and when the moment feels right, I sell them on. Last year I decided it was finally time to build a shed for myself — but I wanted something more than just storage. I wanted a space that felt as special as the buildings I take to shows.

So I built this shed with a veranda: a spacious, fully insulated interior for work and storage (and sleep), paired with a quiet, sheltered veranda for sitting out during the day or entertaining at night.

As we’re moving house, there’s nowhere for this building to come with us, so it’s found a new home — and it has settled perfectly into its spot in the woods, as if it had always belonged there.
